It is an integrated piece of the painting.<\/p>\n<p>Given this, you can sign <strong>as you work<\/strong>, and consider how you might include your signature as an element of your painting. Many artists choose to do this. This allows the signature to become a part of the painting. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"t-1699460846090\"><!--StartFragment--><!--EndFragment-->Where Should I Sign My Artist Signature?<\/h2>\n<p>When choosing a place for an artist&#8217;s signature, it is important to consider <strong>composition<\/strong> and your <strong>personal style<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The signature is a part of the painting, so it must be <strong>balanced<\/strong> and in line with the rest of the piece. Your signature is also meant to be a p<strong>art of your painting<\/strong>, so consider <strong>your style <\/strong>as you sign.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here are our top suggestions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consider using the signature to <strong>balance out a compositionally<\/strong> uneven area in the painting.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Cleverly <strong>hide or integrate your artist signature within the painting<\/strong>, to look as though it were etched into bronze or carved into wood features.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make your artist signature style consistent with the style of your artwork.<\/strong> If you produce elegant work, have an elegant signature that feels as though it comes from the same hand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As an artist, your work should be an extension of who you are, and your signature is a part of that work. Taking the time to practice, but try not to obsess. This will help keep your artist signature thoughtful, but natural.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>color<\/strong> of the signature depends on the painting. If you want the signature to stand out, perhaps you will choose a bold color in a red or a blue.<\/p>\n<p>But if the signature is meant to quietly compliment, you should choose a color that complements the overall colors of the painting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you are working with thick paint in puddling or an impasto technique, you may choose a different route for your signature.<\/p>\n<p>You may wait until the entire painting is dry.
