What You'll Learn
Block 1
Values in Charcoal & Proportional Drawing
In the first block you will learn the two components all drawings are made of; values and edges. Your hands will begin mastering the soft touch required to create realistic art. The last part of this block will show you how to draw anything you see with razor sharp accuracy.

Grayscale Oil Painting
In the second block you will continue to refine your skills and begin your first oil paintings to take what you've learned in Block 1 with charcoal to the next level. We have partnered with and are endorsed by the world’s oldest and best oil paint manufacturer, Old Holland, to bring you custom paint mixed specifically for Evolve students.

Color Oil Painting from Direct Observation
In the third block you will transition to painting in color. In this Block you will bring fully realized paintings to life. You will learn to mix colors, create gradients, and add reflections & highlights to your creations.

Color Oil Painting from Photos
The fourth block focuses on painting from photographs. You will pull together all the skills developed in Blocks 1-3 to create highly refined finished paintings through a direct approach to painting. This is the block where you will begin to create truly stunning artwork.
